I was born in Beirut in April 1965, into a family of internationally known artists of Armenian descent. My parents, Mr. Arka Panos Ghanimian and Mrs. Madeline Jacob Djourian, began their life together as teachers in Ethiopia. After a brief return to Lebanon, they relocated to Kuwait in the early 1970s, where they helped establish the New Armenian School.
My mother served as the Kindergarten Headmistress for many years, while my father briefly worked as Headmaster before moving into the business world. My sister, Maggie, and I continued our education at the New English School (NES) in Kuwait, a leading academic institution in the Gulf at the time and the leading school in the region who introduced computers in their curriculum with a winning spree for everyone at large.
After graduating high-school, I pursued higher education in the United States, studying Aerospace Engineering at Northrop University near LAX, Los Angeles. During my ten years in the U.S., I also participated in various art fairs and exhibitions across multiple states, especially in California.
When Kuwait was invaded in 1990, I returned after its liberation to restart my life. Though I could have remained in the U.S., the passing of my father and my deep-rooted ties to Kuwait led me to stay and establish my own art and contracting business in 1991. It was a time of immense challenge and resilience.
Over the years, I have published and produced numerous artworks, currently distributed through Stepan Graphics. My works have been showcased in galleries and exhibitions across the Middle East and the West, gaining local and regional recognition.
Art has always been a part of my life—from early school days at NES, where I excelled in art, choir, and sports, to international displays in Los Angeles and Kuwait. The support of my teachers and community inspired me to become a better artist, businessman, and communicator.
Today, I continue to serve when needed the Armenian School and Church by participating in the activities just as I did in my youth Professionally, I work in the airline industry with Flydubai’s Kuwait branch, while nurturing my artistic passion and entrepreneurial goals.
I aim to build a bridge between art, culture, and international business, combining my experiences in engineering, tourism, and commercial industries. My work is fueled by a desire to stay active, grow meaningful relationships, and create a positive impact through artistic expression.
My vision is to keep moving forward—advertising my art, connecting with people, and supporting my global family. Like many others, I strive for peace, creativity, and success through constant learning and reflection.
Though life can be complicated, I believe even the simplest actions require time, patience, and perfection. My art reflects this philosophy—built on layers of emotion, experience, and perseverance.
“To forget our pasts is not to erase them, but to learn from them—to create freely, to dream bravely, and to love deeply.”
